TAQA Qualifi cations
Essential qualifi cations for those in training who are required to carry out assessment and quality assurance
About TAQA Qualifi cations: The TAQA qualifi cations (Training, Assessment, & Quality Assurance) replace the A1 & A2 Assessor Awards and the V1 & V2 Verifi er Awards. They are for anyone working in or hoping to take up a role in assessment and internal quality assurance, and provide people in these roles with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieving a professional qualifi cation for their roles. The qualifi cations are linked to the Qualifi cation and Credits Framework (QCF) and are designed for use in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The TAQA qualifi cations offer Awards and Certifi cates at Level 3 and 4. Level 3 provides a pathway for learners to understand assessment and if required, qualify as an assessor. Level 4 focuses on internal quality assurance. Some of the awards concentrate on competence based skills, such as assessing competence in the workplace, while others are knowledge based, such as understanding quality assurance and assessment processes. Therefore, these awards can suit practitioners or anyone wishing to acquire knowledge and information about the roles of the assessor or internal quality assurer.
Advice NI TAQA Qualifi cations: Advice NI offers a range of TAQA qualifi cations including those for assessors and internal quality assurance staff. Our TAQA qualifi cations are accredited through City and Guilds and ProQual. They are available via on-line learning environment and face-to-face. Candidates can enrol on the TAQA qualifi cations at any time.
Who Should Attend? TAQA qualifi cations are open to people carrying out assessments and quality assurance in most learning environments including FE, Adult Continuing Learning, Employers and Third Sector. This includes accredited learning, non-accredited learning qualifi cations on the Qualifi cation Credit Framework (QCF).
