David Rambridge (DRBi Ltd) & Simon Goddard (Sentina Training and Consultancy Ltd) talk to us about Skills Bootcamps in partnership with Sysco Business Skills Academy
course and obtained the IOSH managing safety certification to enhance his training expertise.
Simon has been immersed in the drainage industry for over 19 years. In 2004, he took the leap and started his own Dyno-Rod franchise, leading a dedicated team of seven. As a hands-on drainage engineer, Simon performed unblocks and repairs while also managing the business operations.
As his career advanced, Simon managed a larger Dyno-Rod business across Devon & Cornwall with a team of 25 skilled professionals. He also oversaw a tanker division for a major waste management company, supervising jet vacs, gully suckers, and a CCTV crew. His role included handling wet well cleaning contracts and highway contracts throughout South- West England.
Simon has mentored and trained numerous engineers in all aspects of drainage work, from technical skills to customer service and sales. Prior to his focus on drainage, he gained valuable sales experience in various fields, presenting to major clients such as Pfizer and Glaxo SmithKline, making public speaking second nature to him.
His training style is characterised by a friendly and composed approach, ensuring that learners not only absorb the material but also enjoy the process. Simon has completed the PTTLS

David has dedicated over 25 years to the Plumbing and Drainage Industry, a field he entered by serendipity rather than design. Although it wasn't his original career aspiration, he's thankful for the unexpected turn that led him to this path. His passion for the industry remains as vibrant today as when he first started.
The aspect David values most is the community within the industry. He has had the privilege of collaborating with some of the finest minds, from corporate executives to entrepreneurs in fledgling startups. It's the people that make the industry extraordinary, and David takes pride in the extensive network he has cultivated across various business and technical domains.
Problem-solving, enhancing systems and processes, and motivating others to go beyond their perceived limits are where David's passions lie.
He has played a pivotal role in guiding franchise businesses associated with some of the UK's top brands towards greater profitability and operational excellence by implementing effective strategies.
Safety is at the forefront of David's leadership philosophy. He is committed to advocating for superior standards, improved training, and accreditation, particularly for smaller enterprises in need of support.
