NEWS PayPal Paytm in company logo spat
commerce platform has stolen from its logo. In a complaint filed with the Indian trademark office, it accuses Paytm of producing something that is “deceptively and confusingly similar” to its own, claiming the Alibaba Group-backed company had “slavishly adopted the two-tone blue colour scheme” of the PayPal logo.

According to the complaint, “these similarities cause a likelihood of confusion…There is no reason for the Applicant (Paytm) to adopt the identical colours and colour scheme other than to take advantage of the reputation the Opponent (PayPal) has built up into this combination in connection with its popular services.”
Paytm has declined to comment on the complaint. It advertised its trademark registration in July, a mandatory
