On the move


Amit Varma, a long-standing senior exec- utive at Mindtree (most recently as VP of consulting), has moved to Infosys. He has joined the vendor’s digital marketing and strategy team. In his earlier career, Varma worked for HP and Accenture. This is the latest in a string of leadership


appointments at Infosys since the arrival of new CEO, Vishal Sikka, who moved from SAP in mid-2014. A number of other SAP senior execs promptly followed him to Info- sys, such as Ritika Suri (now head of M&A and investments at Infosys), Michael Reh (head of Finacle) and Abdul Razack (head of platforms at Infosys).


Polaris Consulting & Services has add- ed Uma Ratnam Krishnan to the board. She comes with 27 years of experience in the financial services sector, having held a number of senior management roles at high-profile banks such as RBS, ANZ and HDFC. Meanwhile, N M Vaidyanathan has been


appointed as Polaris’ new CFO. Vaidyana- than moves from Vivimed Labs, an India- based supplier of specialty chemicals and pharmaceuticals, where he was group CFO.


Switzerland-based risk management soft- ware vendor, NetGuardians, has bolstered its sales team with two senior appoint- ments. Thierry Divenot has taken on the role of head of sales for Western Europe, and Mustafa Moonim is the new head of sales for Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

of experience in the financial technology space, having worked for vendors such as BIS (now Misys) and Odyssey Financial Tech- nologies (now part of Temenos). Moonim is also a fintech industry vet-


eran, having spent many years at I-flex and then Oracle FSS, most recently as VP for Europe and the Middle East.


Banking software consultancy firm, GFT, has recruited Nick Nicholls as a principal consultant focusing on business architec- ture and process reengineering. He will be working with tier one and two banks. Nicholls brings over 30 years of experi- ence in investment banking and capital


markets, having spent most of these at Credit Suisse, where he worked in liquidity management, collateral optimisation and business re-engineering roles.


Ex-CEO of TCS’s BPO business, Abid Ali Neemuchwala, has been appointed as COO of rival company Wipro. He spent over 20 years at TCS, but quit the firm in February this year. In his new role at Wipro, Neemuchwa- la will head the service lines of global infra- structure, business applications and pro- cesses, and advanced technology solutions. He will also oversee business operations, relationships and marketing across conti- nental Europe, Africa, and Latin America.


Stephen Mitchell has left Dion Global Solu- tions after a year and a half stint as business development manager to join FIS. At FIS, he was to hold a sales executive role, responsi- ble for Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Over the years, Mitchell has been selling for Financial Objects (now Temenos), Fiserv, Misys and Avaloq. However, it is understood that he has now left FIS as well.


Meanwhile, FIS’s EVP and head of inter- national business for nearly eleven years, Mark Davey, has retired to ‘pursue a number of philanthropic and charitable interests’, according to the vendor. Raja Gopalakr- ishnan has been promoted to lead the firm’s international division. Gopalakrishnan has been with FIS for nine years in various roles, most recently as group MD for APAC and COO of the international division.


David Lefferts has joined the Americas team of Swift as head of marketing. He moves from Markit, where he spent eight years in various roles such as product development, cross-product strategy and business devel- opment. Prior to this, he was VP of fixed income strategy at FINRA, the independent securities regulatory body in the US.


Liquidnet has poached industry veteran Chris Jackson from Citi, where he was head of execution sales in the EMEA region. He will be Liquidnet’s European head of the execution and quantitative services (EQS) group. Prior to Citi, Jackson spent twelve

years at Merrill Lynch, his latest role being head of sales across programme, transi- tions and electronic trading. Liquidnet has been bolstering the EQS


leadership over the last year with five new senior exec hires, including Rob Laible (head of Liquidnet’s global performance team), who was appointed in mid-2014.


India-based lending software vendor, Nucleus Software, has appointed Rahul Krishna as global head of HR and adminis- tration. The appointment comes as part of the vendor’s global expansion strategy. Krishna was previously at Avantha


Group, where he was the VP and group head, organisation development and talent management. Before that, he was at Tata Administrative Services in charge of HR for the Tata Group. He has 17 years of experi- ence in the HR industry, having worked for companies such as Coca Cola, Seagram Dis- tilleries and Oberoi Hotels, prior to his roles at Avantha and Tata.


Bob Blower has joined a US-based payment processing company, Transpay, as bank relationship director. Prior to that, he had a brief stint at the National Bank of Abu Dha- bi as head of trade channels, and before that he was at Standard Bank for around three years, as head of FI, trade and sup- ply chain product management. His earlier employers include HSBC, Logica (now CGI), Gresham and Reuters.


Pricing and billing solutions specialist, Zafin, has named two new directors on its board. These are Nishita Cummings, MD of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors (an inde- pendent alternative investment manage- ment firm), and Abdul Guefor, MD of treas- ury, EMEA, Intel Capital. The Zafin board now has seven directors.


Continuity, a US-based provider of the Compliance Core solution to community FIs, has refreshed its leadership team. Alan Hurwitz has joined as CFO, Pete Rawlinson is new CMO, Chris Dircks is now SVP, client strategy, and Bob Michaud is EVP, client operations. Continuity was set up in 2008, and today it has around 200 clients across 40 states.
