IBS Journal July-August 2015
After 22 years of going it alone, IBS Intelligence has a parent. As of 1st June 2015, we became part of Cedar Management Consulting International. What will this mean to our customers? Hopefully, the best of both parties – all of IBS’s traditional strengths combined with the global reach, domain knowledge and research capabilities of Cedar.
The two companies had come to know each other over the preceding couple of years, including through working together on a couple of consulting assignments. One thing led to another, as we started to discuss the opportunities and synergies. Cedar has complete independence from any suppliers, which was essential when considering this route (we’ve had plenty of discussions and suitors over the years), and it also has a well-earned strong reputa- tion particularly in its main home territory of the Middle East, where it has helped many banks with major transformation projects.
Most importantly, it has a strong, clear vision for IBS’s research and publishing. Long-standing readers may already start to see with this edition some of the added value that Cedar can bring, with research in the Wealth Management Supplement to augment our editorial. We are increasing the size of the editorial team, already opened a London office, we have gained customer support functions around the globe at one fell-swoop, and we will be expanding our industry reports.
We also already have a new, easy to view, navigable website. Meanwhile, reassuringly, the key editorial team remains intact. So lots of change for the good, but also lots of stability.
We are all looking forward to the next chapter in IBS Intelligence’s history.
