he world of automotive recycling con- tinues to change at a rapid pace. Every month there seems to be a new e-com- merce system, core or inventory tool, online parts listing service or estimating platform to connect you to more cus- tomers. There are more people bidding vehicles from all over the world, scrap and metal prices remain volatile, and the need to increase non-inventory profit centers and monitor employee performance pre- cisely is increasing.

Staying or Getting Connected It is difficult for anyone to be able to stay

up on everything or make the right deci- sions all the time. And there is a distinct trend in the industry that is growing the

gap between recyclers that are thriv- ing and those that are struggling. Critical information will need to be available more frequently and be accessible at any time. Smart analysis such as this will be needed when or before you know you need it. The companies that are thriving are companies that maximize information through technology. They are more active in state and national associations, attend state and national conferences, and devel- op trading resources with other recyclers

These companies recognize the value of knowledge and not having to find all the answers on their own. They receive daily updated information about the health of their companies, utilize industry experts and trusted peers to recognize and capi- talize on industry trends. Through use of
