people in a lot of different positions. I’ve continued to nurture those relation- ships. Respectful and sincere relation- ships, regardless of position, keep me connected with the larger organization. For example, I have regular calls with my teams in Asia where zone differences of 12 to 16 hours make connecting less than optimal. Something as simple as making it a point to schedule a call when it is most convenient for them promotes strong engagement.

helps. Phone calls, videoconferences and e-mails (some would say too many) help us to stay abreast of what is happening with each other and within our respective areas of responsibility.
