General Peter Chiarelli (Ret.), CEO of One Mind, also spoke during the event, stating that, “CDISC standards will have

great benefits for Americans affected by Post-Traumatic

veterans, and other Stress.”

Traumatic Brain Injury Advocate, Dr. Roxana Delgado, spoke on the challenges faced by family and caregivers in meeting the needs of those wounded in military service, and her husband, SFC Victor Medina (Ret.), was given a standing ovation by the audience after a moving presentation in which he emphasized, “if we don’t share data, we die,” and that “the work that CDISC and One Mind are doing - they are the real deal.”

Paired with these powerful messages was an evening of entertainment provided by musicians based both in and out of Austin, several of whom had been directly affected by Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury. Doug Bossi performed an original song, dedicated to “all veterans from all wars who suffer from their ‘Fog of War.’” Two-time Grammy Award nominee and activist, Eliza Gilkyson, and Sam Baker, musician and TBI and PTS survivor, rounded out the evening with both audience favorites and songs supporting the theme of the event.

The evening was kindly sponsored by the Association of the

the Golden Rule Family

Foundation, and Quintiles, as well as a great number of other Austin-based organizations and businesses that contributed to a number of needs, including local outreach, printing, the silent auction, and wine and beer for the event. To see highlights from the evening, we have a followup video available on the CDISC YouTube page.
