raig David is enjoying his biggest hit in years with When
The Bassline Drops (feat. Big Narstie), which dashes 8-1 on both the Upfront and Commercial Pop charts this week.
Already his first Top 20 entry on the OCC chart since 2007, the track has a 13.42% lead over runner-up Nero’s Into The Night on
the Upfront chart, and has a 9.33% lead over Avicii’s Broken Arrows - which remains at No.2 - on the Commercial Pop chart. In addition to the original mix of When The Bassline Drops, which doesn’t stray far from David’s garage roots, DJs have been serviced with additional house mixes from Todd Terry and Alex Ross, a garage mix from Flava D and drum & bass mixes from Manchester’s North Base. When The Bassline
Drops also enjoys a big increase in support among urban DJs, but remains at No.5 on the Urban club chart, where Tinashe’s Player (feat. Chris Brown) is No.1 for the second time, Brown’s own Fine By Me looks more likely to take over at the top, and sprints 7-2 after increasing support 36.24% week-on-week. Finally, a notable
absentee from the Upfront Top 40 this week is Format: B’s Chunky, which ends a 21 week run on the list.
