The latest edition of the huge annual plastics show is back in Guangzhou. Here, we preview some of the highlights that are of interest to pipe and profile extruders
Chinaplas 2017 preview: return to Guangzhou
Despite the slowdown in China’s economy having an impact on plastics consumption, this seems to have had little effect on Chinaplas – the country’s major industry exhibition, which takes place again this month. The event, held this year in Guangzhou on 16-19 May,
is again expected to be a busy affair. Last year’s event, which was held in Shanghai – the show rotates between the two venues – attracted nearly 150,000 visitors, which was a record number. It was 16% higher than the 2015 event in Guangzhou, and 14% higher than the previous Shanghai event in 2014. The 2016 show covered an exhibition area of over
240,000m² and had 3,335 exhibitors from 39 countries and regions. Organising company Adsale Exhibition Services is expecting Chinaplas 2017 to set a new record in terms of its scale by reaching 250,000m² of exhibition area, with exhibitor numbers likely to exceed 3,300. This continuing growth has led the organisers to relocate to a larger venue in Shanghai in 2018 – the
