A nice spread

SA Mushrooms produces white (A15) and brown (S800) button mushrooms in 24 growing rooms on their farm north of Adelaide, Australia. In three flushes, a yield of 34 kg/m2 is cultivated, using their own compost and a lot of hardware, casing soil and supplement from The Netherlands. The aim is achieving the best possible spread so that the necessary high quality can be picked over the space of five days in the first flush. The majority of the mushrooms are picked and presented in the comany’s specially designed 4 kg cardboard packaging and sold at the market in Pooraka. See also page 8-11. Photo: Simple
