EYECARE | ASE CORPORATE EYECARE
EAGLE EYES
Sight is one of our most valuable senses. Here, ASE Corporate Eyecare reveals how to protect your employees’ eyesight from as little as £25.
Did you know that eyestrain and associated eye problems cost UK businesses a staggering £1.5 billion a year? ASE Corporate Eyecare has been providing corporate eyecare solutions for 22 years to both the private and public sectors to ensure their employees’ eyesight is protected.
We can provide solutions for computer users, employees driving on behalf of businesses and people who require prescription safety eyewear, all via a simple online application and voucher distribution platform.
We have a number of voucher types to ensure legislative compliance with Display Screen Equipment Regulations and the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at Work Regulations 1992. The latter concern the employer’s obligation to provide
PPE to every employee exposed to health and safety hazards at work.
It is vitally important that PPE equipment is suitable, appropriate and fit for purpose, but there are often many issues associated with prescription safety eyewear. Typical complaints include discomfort associated with side shields, fogging or often that the frames lack style. All of these can contribute to employees not wearing their eyewear for the purpose it was intended, causing serious issues and potential risks for employees as well as health and safety officers.
To combat these issues we offer a premium polycarbonate eye shield which incorporates smart design giving the widest possible wraparound protection for clarity of vision. The lens curvature has been calculated to
optimise vision when combined with the prescription insert. The brow guard in soft foam improves impact absorption and comfort without the need for side shields, while the prescription insert can be easily clicked in and out of the frame. If damage occurs it will often only be the less expensive frame that needs replacing and not the glazed optical insert.
To make life easy all product entitlement, access and distribution is taken care of via our online application system. Employees make a request for eyecare and an entitlement voucher (the EyecarePlan) is sent to them by email. The employee can choose from a nationwide network of affiliated opticians to visit and a dedicated customer service team is available 6 days a week to assist employees during their application.
Other schemes often involve complicated self-administered pre-pay voucher systems or hidden costs such as a dispensing fee. ASE’s simple ‘pay as you go’ all-inclusive price of £59 for a safety eyeshield and a pair of single, bifocal or even varifocal prescription inserts offers unbeatable value for money.
Vouchers for computer users start at just £25 for a full eyesight test and single vision glasses. For just a few pounds more bifocals and varifocals can also be included.
