CROMWELL POLYTHENE MAKES
NEW WAVES Cromwell Polythene has extended the range of products sold under its Wave brand with the introduction of disposable aprons and water- soluble strip laundry bags. The two products complement the company’s Wave branded latex-free, disposable examination gloves for professional use.
Like the gloves, the Wave full-size (685mm x 1060mm) disposable aprons incorporate Cromwell Polythene’s exclusive LOWCO2T™ technology. Available in blue or white, with other colours made to order, the aprons are supplied either in dispenser poly packs or rolls of 200 for easy dispensing, and are packed in outers of 1,000.
Designed for the safe containment of soiled linen, Wave water-soluble strip laundry bags are manufactured
MARTINDALE TAKES SAFE ISOLATION TO
ANOTHER LEVEL Martindale Electric, the safe isolation experts, has launched the VI1500 to complement its range of industry standard voltage indicators and extend safe isolation procedures into higher voltage applications.
The new VI1500 has a 1000V CATIV safety rating and LED indication for AC/DC voltages from 50V to 690V and above, ensuring compliance with health and safety recommendations for safe working in all BS EN61010 installation categories. Martindale Electric says it’s the simplest and most reliable way to ensure circuits have been de- energised and properly isolated prior to maintenance and modifications.
Based on the industry endorsed VI3800, the new CATIV design not only provides improved protection against voltage transients, but also includes a high wattage resistor that will limit the current in the event of damage

from virgin LDPE film incorporating LOWCO2T™ technology for a low carbon footprint.
Available in 40-litre and 50-litre sizes, the bags incorporate a water soluble seal running the length of the bag and an alginate tie string for securing them when full. The strip and tie dissolve in the wash cycle (hot or cold) allowing the contents to discharge into the wash.
The bag itself is taken out with the wash and may either be recycled, safely disposed of by landfill or burned for energy recovery in an EFW plant. Stock bags are supplied in cartons of 200, with four poly packs of 50 per carton.
The expanded Wave range will be sold through Cromwell’s distributor network, alongside its portfolio of sacks, bags and speciality products for the storage and collection of waste and recyclables.

to the cable in accordance with BS EN61243-3. The protection is built in where it’s needed – in the handheld probe assembly rather than just in the instrument, providing superior protection for the user.
Fully compliant with HSE GS38 regulations, the VI1500 comes with heavy-duty double insulated leads and features bright LEDs to clearly identify the voltage present in five levels with thresholds of up to 690V. The indicator, which requires no batteries, will identify both AC and DC sources and show polarity.
Designed in Martindale’s distinctive yellow casing with a clear blue label, to make it easily identifiable, the new VI1500 is available to purchase on its own or as part of a kit for on-site working. Kits include a high voltage Martindale proving unit, combination carry case and locking off devices, enabling voltage indicators to be proved before and after use and the point of isolation to be locked off with a moment’s notice.
