GLOVES ARE ON FOR POLYCO AT
H&S EVENT 2015 UK glove manufacturer Polyco has announced the launch of two new innovative gloves at the Health & Safety Event taking place at the NEC from 24th to 26th March 2015: the Multi-Task E and Multi-Task L.
As the names suggest, these gloves perform in a multitude of applications and are appropriate for use in several industry sectors, such as
automotive maintenance and repair, construction work, general assembly, light engineering work and machine operation.
The highly flexible thermoplastic rubber protection applied to the back of the hand and fingers has been engineered to safeguard from impact injury without restricting movement or dexterity. The choice of materials has been combined to ensure optimum comfort, alleviating the hand fatigue so often associated with gloves that have added impact protection.
Multi-Task E has a nitrile palm coating with a sand blasted finish to improve handling performance, particularly in light oil applications. Multi-Task L has a nylon mesh liner with a soft padded leather palm to enhance grip. Spandex has been used between the fingers to add greater flexibility and increase breathability.
Polyco is committed to helping organisations identify the most appropriate and fit-for-purpose hand
URSOSBUTTON GETS
EVEN SMALLER In 2014, ANT Telecom, provider of bespoke, integrated communications solutions, announced its partnership with Isle Systems. The partnership has seen ANT become the UK reseller of the UrSOSButton, which is offered as part of its lone worker offering to support and protect workers in remote locations.
ANT and Isle Systems have now announced further developments to the UrSOSButton in terms of its look and overall design. A smaller version, the size of a key fob, will provide users with an even more discrete option to help with their personal security and safety. When pressed, the button can activate a variety of different actions including recording, photography or alerting a colleague/ family member of an incident.
protection. The Hand Protection Assessment Survey (HPAS®) from Polyco delivers its expertise to companies free of charge, ultimately helping them minimise the number of injuries in the workplace and increase work efficiency.
Polyco’s hand protection specialists will be on hand at the Health & Safety Event on stand G16.

The new design has been created for use inside and outside of the business environment, with individuals also being able to use the UrSOSButton for their own personal security and that of their families.
The companies believe the smaller UrSOSButton will have particular appeal in the healthcare sector, where patients are increasingly being treated in the community. Nurses and hospital workers, they say, are able to easily activate the button to send out an amber or red alert to colleagues if they get into a situation in which they feel uncomfortable.
Mark Hanley, Owner of Isle Systems, commented: “The UrSOSButton is already available to users in a USB memory stick form factor, which works very well. However, we continue to develop the button to give both the private and public sector options that suit their individual and diverse needs. Being able to choose to use the button in either the size of a USB or key fob, provides users with the discreet form factor that best suits them.”
