SHE EXPO 2016 SHOW GUIDE
IT’S FINALLY HERE!
Here Heather Beach, Director of the OSH Portfolio at UBM EMEA introduces us to the latest in the Protection and Management Series, the Safety & Health Expo 2016. Who says Health and Safety is dull?
WELCOME TO SAFETY & HEALTH EXPO 2016.
I am thrilled to be introducing you to the 2016 edition of Safety and Health Expo at ExCeL.
As you might expect, we haven’t stood still over the last year and have been working hard on how to keep adding sparkle to the show to continue to surpass your expectations!
Luckily we are constantly working on tools to help you plan your time - with the expanded meetings programme – including a matchmaking service between visitors and exhibitors and our new improved visitor app which contains information on all the features, content and exhibitors so that you can decide where you need to be when!
We have expanded this year’s show considerably with the Professional Clothing Show and the associated prestigious awards joining us at SHE. We have also added uniform and workwear to the PPE exhibitors on the show floor and provided you with even more shows on the SHE Live catwalk!

This year, the theme for the show is “Transforming Health and Safety from Compliance to Engagement” and the keynote theatre has been built around this knotty problem, and along with the industry heavyweights you might expect to see, we have some inspirational speakers Kate Adie, Col Tim Collins and James Cracknell all looking at leadership from their perspective.
With over 100 hours of free conference CPD content, across a large number of theatres, we are pleased to welcome some overseas speakers such as Dr Kirstin Ferguson and Linda Reinstein.
If you want a private audience with some health and safety celebrities, such as Steve Hails, John Green and Sheila Pantry you can find them entertaining with prosecco on the SHP stand.
Before I go, there are a couple of special events on the 23rd June I want to draw your attention to. Last year, we introduced Women in Health and Safety which has been extremely popular and resulted in events taking place all
around the country. This year we are hosting a special event called #SHE1000 also supported by WIFM, BSIA and Sodexo among others, training us all on how to network effectively.
The second event is celebrating the health and safety leaders of tomorrow. We’ve joined together with BOHS, BSC, IIRSM, APS, Nebosh to award a “Rising Start” and we have been delighted with the quantity and quality of the entries. We are also pleased to be joined by representatives from SGUK’s LoCHer project.
All in all, we look forward to an exciting (and exhausting) week. Myself and my team will be delighted to get your feedback - good and bad - and please do add to the excitement by joining us on social media. You can tweet us on @SHExpo #shexpo or tag us on Linkedin.
Let us know what you think!
Enjoy! 37
