Birch Carpets is one of the UK’s leading designers, manufacturers, and distributors of Contract Carpets, Carpet Tiles, and Barrier and Entrance Matting systems designed for use in the Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Leisure, Residential and Retail sectors.
To meet the specific needs of Care Homes and other Healthcare facilities, we offer specially developed ranges of impervious backed, stain and bacteria resistant heavy-duty carpets.
These ranges are called Care Tech and Care Tech Plus and to ensure that they are fit for purpose we have consulted extensively with DSDC (Dementia Services Design Centre) at the University of Stirling, to create a specification and colour range suitable for use in buildings for people with dementia. This range also provides a highly effective solution for residents and patients with visual impairment or other perceptual problems.

The Floor is Yours
Carpet Recycling UK is a not-for-profit membership association supported by core funders - Cormar Carpets, Lifestyle Floors/Headlam, Desso, ege, Milliken, Balsan and Marlings – and members working throughout the supply chain to increase the reuse and recycling of carpet waste across the UK. Since 2008, it has focused on developing viable solutions to the 400,000 tonnes of carpet waste arising in the UK each year. Recycling capacity is increasing in response to more specialist facilities handling carpets in reuse, recycling and energy recovery processes. Specialist outlets across the UK contribute to these total diversion routes with end uses from equestrian surfaces to textile felts and underlay products. 2015 saw 125,000 tonnes of carpet reused, recycled or recovered for energy – a new record and testament to CRUK’s ongoing commitment and success. CRUK’s target is 60% landfill diversion by 2020.
Enquiries are welcomed from all types of organisations interested in finding new outlets for waste carpet.
