Each month we ask a flooring industry professional the Tomorrow’s Flooring 10 Questions. This month, we chatted to Keir Tweddle, Managing Director at Stauf Adhesive UK

Q5

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing

you’d buy? I think the first thing would be a beer while I sat and thought about it and decided whether or not I should tell the wife!

Q6 Q7

Q1 Q2

What was your first job? While I was still at school I was

working in a pub, but my first full-time job was as a trainee goldsmith.

How did you get into the flooring industry?

I met a beautiful women whose father was just entering the industry and we decided to move forward together on a project involving hard wax oils.

Q3

What do you think the positives and negatives of the

flooring industry are? I think the positives are the people; we have some great forward-thinking people in the industry. On a negative side I believe we don’t have enough standards and that allows for cheaper products to keep appearing. Can you honestly think of a time when cheaper has been better?

Q4 56

If you could hire any one person to be part of your team,

who would it be and why? Michelle Mone OBE is a great motivator who speaks from the heart. I don’t think anyone could listen to her and not be inspired.

If you could have any super power, what would it

be and why? I’d love to be able to fly then I’d never have to fly with a low-cost airline ever again.

If you could be one person for a day, who would it be

and why? There’s no one person in particular, I’d like to be. But it would be nice to be an F1 driver and get to drive an amazing car at fantastic speeds for a living.

Q8 Q9

Where would you like to be a fly on the wall?

It would be interesting to spend Christmas day at Buckingham Palace.

What would you like to see in a future issue of

Tomorrow’s Flooring? I think the future has to be green and it’s always interesting to know how people are planning and what changes we can expect to see in the industry.

Q10

If there was one thing you could change within the

flooring industry what would it be and why? People say I always go on about transparency – so maybe more transparency. Especially on certain products, which say they can be used on everything, but when you read the technical data sheet it says the opposite. So, I’d definitely like to see more transparency please.
