PREMIER LEAGUE FLOORING FOR FC UNITED OF

MANCHESTER FC United of Manchester’s new £5.5 million, 4,440 capacity stadium was officially opened earlier this year. It celebrates the club’s 10th anniversary and features first class flooring from leading adhesive supplier Bostik UK.

Stockport-based flooring contractors Siteform recommended that the EVO-STIK Premier league football club should contact Bostik, owner of the EVO-STIK brand, to see if the company could help in the construction stages of the new Broadhurst Park stadium by supplying its range of professional flooring solutions.

Katharine Egerton at Bostik, commented: “This is an exciting project for a club and its supporters that in football terms is in its infancy, but has ambitions of climbing up the leagues and challenging its bigger footballing brothers in Manchester. When we were approached to support this project we were delighted to help in any way we could.”

apprentice, working towards an NVQ Level 3 in Marketing. Callum Gunn is working towards an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance and ultimately a degree in Engineering Design. Bradley Ball is training to become a fully qualified electrician.

Sarah Bolsover, 24, is participating in a six month internship in F. Ball's Development department. She has a BSc in Chemistry

Bostik supplied enough product to satisfy the contractors needs for the flooring in the new stadium’s main 250m² function room. The company’s local technical representative also worked in partnership with Siteform to oversee the installation.

Stewart Lacey at Bostik said: “A key consideration in the specification process was the high level of footfall anticipated in the main function room as well as the club’s urgent need to meet the completion date of the build process.

“Siteform specified a full system of subfloor preparation products from Bostik, including Screedmaster One

Coat Membrane, Screedmaster Universal Primer, Screedmaster Ultimate Smoothing Compound and Bostik Laybond Pressure Sensitive Adhesive. They were confident this system would help them complete the job on time and to the high standards required by the client.”

Andy Walsh, General Manager at FC United of Manchester, concluded: “Bostik were brilliant. They got back to us immediately and within a few days had supplied everything needed for the contractors to carry out the work. We couldn’t ask for a better league sponsor!”

David Woolrich, Training Advisor at F. Ball, said: "F. Ball's leading position in the UK flooring industry is as much down to the talents of our people, which we continue to enhance through continual professional development, as it is the quality of our products. We believe strongly in investing in the next generation of young people, who will grow to take on vital roles in the future of F. Ball."
