EARTHBORN PAINT PALLET PROVIDES FRESH NEW COLOUR OPTIONS AT KÄHRS VIRTUAL

SHOWROOM Kährs has teamed up with eco-paint manufacturer, Earthborn, to add a new design tool to its UK consumer website at www.kahrs.com (Virtual Kahrs.) The interactive tool, for professionals and consumers, allows visitors to select and install Kährs wood floor designs within virtual furnished rooms — from country kitchen to contemporary living room. Now, as well as choosing from over 140 wood floors and 55 individual roomsets, you can also decorate your room’s virtual walls. The new design tool includes 72 colour tones from Earthborn’s Claypaint range, including its 16 newest shades. Once created, the designs can be compared, saved and shared.

Like Kährs, Earthborn is a design-led brand with a strong environmental ethos. Its ultra-matt finish claypaint range is VOC-free and carries the sought-after EU

Ecolabel. Within the Walls and Ceilings collection, colour options span from light- catching neutrals to rich jewel tones. All shades are included within the virtual showroom, to maximize design potential.

“We’re delighted to have teamed up with Earthborn. Wood flooring has evolved into a key interior design element and working with a like-minded paint manufacturer opens up a host of exciting opportunities,” explained Harvey Booth, Kährs Country Manager.

“The relationship between floorcoverings and wall colour is fundamental to any room scheme. This exciting new collaboration allows for an array of exciting new colour combinations and brings peace of mind to those looking to buy environmentally ‘better’ interior products,“ commented Cathryn Helsby, Marketing Manager, Earthborn.

BREAKTHROUGH SOLUTION FOR BITUMINOUS SUBSTRATES FROM NORCROS ADHESIVES

Norcros Adhesives has cracked the problem of tiling onto bitumen and asphalt substrates with the latest addition to its Ultim8 family of ready- mixed tiling adhesives.

The company has developed Ultim8 B+ specifically to enable easy and rapid tiling on to bitumen or asphalt surfaces or surfaces coated with contact adhesive residues. Up until now this has only been possible after carrying out a messy and tedious scabbling process to remove all traces of the asphalt and bitumen.

This is particularly an issue in refurbishment projects, where it may be desired to tile over an old bitumen or asphalt surface. These are often found on floors where old vinyl tiles have been removed and on balconies, and the complications involved can greatly add to the difficulties of tiling in such areas. Bitumen surfaces are also encountered in new build, particularly in cellars,

where bitumen damp proof membranes are often installed.

Ultim8 B+ is now by far the most straightforward solution for tiling in such circumstances, whether interior or exterior.

The product operates as a system in which the installer firstly fixes Norcros 6mm Pro Board to the bitumen or asphalt surface using Ultim8 B+, a procedure, which requires minimal preparation. The installer can then fix ceramic, porcelain or natural stone tiles to the surface of the board, using a cement-based tile adhesive, for internal or external use as appropriate.

Ultim8 B+ is available in a 15kg tub and shares the brand identity with the rest of the Ultim8 range of ready-mixed adhesives from Norcros.
