SWALLOW MEDICINES EASILY GLOUP: The first universal gel that has been

purposely developed for swallowing solid medicines Dysphagia occurs commonly among residents living in long-term care facilities. Many residents have illnesses causing dysphagia, including neurological and neuromuscular diseases, structural changes in the oropharynx, salivary changes and psychological illness.

Gloup is a gel designed specifically for the oral administration of solid dose medication. It has been formulated to aid the swallowing process in a number of key areas, detailed below:

Therefore, the act of swallowing places the patient with dysphagia at risk. To ensure safety during oral medication administration, patients with dysphagia require an appropriate oral dosage form or modification of the dosage form.

However, certain modifications are undesirable, such as the crushing of enteric-coated or sustained-release tablets, and can lead to adverse events. Examples of such adverse events include opioid overdose occurring when sustained-release morphine products are crushed, abnormal movements occurring when sustained-release levodopa-carbidopa is crushed and the loss of efficacy of medications such as omeprazole, which are destroyed by stomach acid when crushed.

Usually, however, the issues are simply down to the medicine itself. Tablets and lozenges are sometimes rough or come in strange shapes and capsules are almost always quite large. This can be a problem, particularly if the medication has to be taken on a regular basis or if numerous medicines have to be taken at the same time.

• Easy to swallow, good texture yet slippery and thick

• Does not stick to the mucus membrane in the mouth or throat

• Capable of masking the taste of medicines • Pleasant sweet cherry flavour • Appealing colour • All ingredients are food grade and natural • Free from sugar, gluten and allergens

Gloup is a simple solution for the problems associated with Dysphagia; it is currently being used by an ever growing number of care providers here in the UK. It is receiving endorsements from care providers on a regular basis,

“What a fantastic product! Our residents now receive their medication as intended, with the
