Advanced Automated Discrete Analyser at Pittcon 2017

Visitors to the Seal Analytical booths (3943 and 4043) at Pittcon 2017 will be able to see the latest technology in automated laboratory analysis, including the AQ400 automated discrete analyser.

The automated discrete analysers and segmented flow analysers from Seal Analytical have been designed for high-speed, greater capacity, improved reproducibility and greater flexibility, and the AQ400 analyser is no exception.

Manufactured by Seal in the US, the AQ400 has been designed to provide even greater speed and capacity, with improved reproducibility and greater flexibility. The AQ400 has all the advantages of discrete analysis; auto-standard preparation, auto-dilution, automatic method changeover and low reagent consumption. Regulatory approved applications (EPA, ISO) include nutrients such as nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, phosphate, Chromium VI, TKN, TP etc. in water, wastewater, soils, extracts and digests.

Seal Analytical’s range of discrete analysers offer minimal operator involvement and the ability to run many different tests on each sample in the same run.

Seal Analytical also develops and manufactures automated Segmented Flow Analysers for those laboratories that require high throughput, accurate analysis with very low detection limits for large numbers of samples.

Pittcon 2017 visitors will also be able to learn about the new ‘SmartBlock II’ graphite heating blocks that simultaneously digest samples faster, simpler and safer than traditional laboratory equipment. The SmartBlock II range and their sample vials are all manufactured by Seal under the Thomas Cain brand which ensures the quality of the digesters and the consumables; the vials undergo rigorous testing to ensure that they are free from any contamination, and they are fully compatible with the SmartBlock II range, so they are ideal for metals analysis.

With a new sleek design and a range that includes 36, 60 and 96 position blocks for 100ml, 50ml and 15ml vials, the SmartBlock II instruments are also priced very competitively.

Clean Room Station Provides Particle-Free Air for all Industry and Research Workplaces

Spetec GmbH in Erding is presenting a new product in the field of clean room technology. With CleanBoy®

, users

can achieve highly efficient clean room conditions at any workplace at little investment cost.

The need for extremely clean conditions is becoming ever more important in research and production as well as during service operations. The aim of clean room technology is to remove particles of a diameter of 0.12 µm or larger from a defined space in which the most exacting cleanliness standards guarantee a reliable workflow. This can be achieved using a clean room module from the SuSi® (Super Silent) series which is positioned directly above the work area. Exceptionally pure, filtered air is then passed over the work area. While the normal indoor atmosphere contains somewhere between 9,000 and 15,000 particles per litre, the use of clean room technology reduces this to a mere 3 particles per litre.

Parts or components produced in the modern laboratory, mechanical engineering, electronics, optoelectronics, medical or biotechnology industries can be assembled or stored with exceptional reliability. A mobile, wheel-mounted version of the CleanBoy®

makes it possible to transport the

unit to different locations within the company. It is also possible to adapt the dimensions to meet the requirements of problematic workplaces.

The use of the CleanBoy® in large walk-in spaces results in

a defined area in which practically no more particles can be detected. The unit is available in table-top and floor- standing versions. It requires no installation work and is ready for use immediately after delivery.

Compressed Air Purification Equipment Manufacturer sees Orders Soar Post Brexit Vote

Hi-line industries, an established and reputable UK manufacturer of high quality compressed air handling and purification equipment is reporting its most successful period ever following the Brexit referendum vote earlier this year. In fact, at the company’s year-end in July, Hi-line’s turnover grew at a record 28%. Furthermore, with its new financial year beginning in the summer period, orders have continued to increase at strong levels particularly on large projects.

Since its inception in 1999, Hi-line has expanded year-on-year, enjoying steady double-digit growth. However, the surge in demand for British-manufactured goods since the Brexit vote is unprecedented. Together with a weakening of the pound against the euro, this has stood Hi-line well in the export market. In contrast, competitors in countries like Germany, which is traditionally strong in compressor technologies, are finding it tougher.

Hi-line is witnessing a growing number of companies in Europe using the currency fluctuations to their advantage by buying British. However, from the UK too, there is growing demand with an increasing number of British brands trying to support other national manufacturers by placing orders in the UK.

The company is part of the Made in Britain campaign and, wherever possible, also chooses to source wholly British materials to build its flagship compressed air purification equipment. As a result, following a strong recruitment drive in December, Hi-line is taking on more engineers and office staff in January to help with the increased demand for their air dryers, adsorption dryers, nitrogen/oxygen generators, filtration equipment and condensate management technologies that 2017 will bring.

Hi-line makes some of the most energy-efficient compressed air dryers in the world, and has an enviable reputation for manufacturing the most energy-efficient range of bespoke and ‘off the shelf’ heat regeneration zero loss adsorption dryers. Furthermore, the company’s N2

and O2 value for money in the UK food and beverage industry.

A member of the British Compressed Air Society and carrying ISO 9001:2008 certification, Hi-line has further established their reputation for the innovative design, manufacture, supply and installation of energy-efficient compressed air purification equipment. As Britain’s largest stockist of a broad range of air

treatment ancillaries, and largest supplier of refrigeration air dryers, the company’s products are designed and built to the highest standards of quality by experienced and qualified engineers. 41274pr@reply-direct.com generators are recognised as the best
