How investment work is transforming homes


TENANTS in the North East are enjoying warmer homes that are easier to heat. A £2.5m project has seen homes in Gartloch Road and Coxton Place, Garthamlock, improved with new overcladding installed, roofs repaired and new loft insulation laid. Backcourts have also been upgraded, with fencing painted, a new boundary wall built and new grass laid in Gartloch Road. And the work is making a big


difference to tenants. Catherine Forrest, from Coxton Place,


says she is more comfortable at home after the outside of her building was overclad. Catherine, a retired shop assistant, said: “The overcladding on the outside has made the whole place look nice and fresh and clean. “The scaffolding has just come down

and when you see the work all done it makes a big difference. “It feels warmer, and it’s much more


comfortable. I’m looking forward to saving money on my bills. “I’m delighted with the work. “I’ve lived here for 54 years – I’m in
