USTOMERS in Pollokshields are expanding their vegetable patch thanks to help from our environmental team. Kathleen Kerr and her neighbours in the south side of Glasgow recently signed up to the backcourt maintenance service which maintains their gardens, and they are delighted with the results. The residents were keen to extend their small vegetable patch and the environmental team stepped in to help. They removed two overgrown bushes to
give extra space for additional vegetable patches and YourPlace even gave the residents £50 of vouchers for B&Q to help
them get started. Kathleen Kerr (53) said: “Thanks to the
great work of the environmental team we are able to extend our vegetable garden and put in more beds. “This is the first year we’ve tried to grow our
own vegetables and we’re learning as we go. This year we’ve grown leeks, cabbages, celery and spinach to name but a few. “I love the idea of growing food we can eat
