with (former ASU standout) Paul Casey. I said to myself after that putt, I should have left my clubs in Scotland because I’ll never have a highlight like that in the rest of my golf career. I guess that’s my 40th
world record — the longest putt ever made on TV.
5 Do you play with a lot of pros? Who impresses you? Watching Dustin (Johnson) play is truly remarkable. Watching
how far he hits the ball, and that
thing he does with his wrist at the top (of his swing). And I got a needle from Bubba (Watson) during the (2013 pro-am) after I hit my best drive at No. 12 or 13, and he says to me, “Did you see how far I hit it past you?” And I was like, “Dude, you do this for a living! Like, please tell me you’re kidding me.” I should have said, “Let’s get in the lake and swim a couple of laps and see what happens.”
6 Are you looking forward to the 16th hole at the TPC Scottsdale? What was
it like last time? (In 2013) I
cup) and the place erupted. It was like, “Oh, so that’s all you’ve got to do. Awesome!”
7 What’s in your golf bag, and what is your go-to club? I have PING woods, my irons and wedges are PXG, and a
Scottie Cameron putter. Scottie made me a special
putter, and I love it. It says “Gold Medals,” which is pretty neat. My go-to club probably is my gap wedge up to my 6-iron. My 4-iron is blah.

basically wanted to get it over as fast as I could. I think I got booed four times. I hit a gap wedge that backed off the green. Had a nice chip shot up the hill — duffed it. Got booed again. Putted it up, didn’t make it, got booed again. Picked it up, got booed. I walked over to the hole and dropped it in (the
8 Speaking of gold medals, have you ever been to PING’s gold putter vault? Oh,
yeah, I went there in 2012 and I
have a photo on Instagram of it. I even saw Bubba’s gold club, the wedge that he made that ridiculous shot with at the (2012) Masters. It’s cool to see all the history in there. Hey, they’ve got more gold in that room than I do, and it’s not close.
9 Do you have a favorite golf course in Phoenix? Where do you play most of the
time? That new par-3 course at
Scottsdale National is absurd. Really tough greens to get the ball to stay on. I love the
views at Whisper Rock, which are unreal. Silverleaf also is a great course. I also enjoy playing the Champions Course (at TPC Scottsdale). n
