We seek to develop children’s independence and awareness of others from the time they start at Mission Grove.


At Mission Grove the interests and needs of the children are always paramount. We promote respect for moral and social values, and an appreciation and understanding of the race, religion, culture, gender, special needs and the way of life of others.


We have clear expectations of behaviour at Mission Grove. Our pupils behave in a calm and reasonable manner, and are polite and respectful to all in the school community.


Each class will have one teacher throughout the year. In some phases core subjects are sometimes taught in ability groups, which allows for personalised learning and teaching targeted at pupils needs. This also enables smaller class sizes which supports the learning.


We have a welcoming school that is open to all.


Our staffing structure is designed to manage the school effectively and to utilise the individual strengths of the team. The Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team are responsible for day to day management of the school.


Each Key Stage has an Assistant Head who ensures that the specific needs of the children in their age range are met. It also ensures effective communication across the school as the Senior Leadership Team meet on a weekly basis.


The curriculum coordinators have particular strengths in their subject areas and are responsible for overseeing the teaching of their subjects across the school. The coordinators work with all class teachers on their planning for the year, setting topics and ensuring that the different learning needs are met.


The Governors are representatives of parents, school staff, the local community and Authority. They have responsibility for overseeing the organisation, curriculum and budget of the school.


We have an active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) called ‘Friends of Mission Grove’, which organises many enjoyable, social and fundraising events.
