Sizzling sounds and scrumptious smells will be wafting through the town centre with stalls starting at the Minster Gardens and weaving their way through to Effingham Street. With many stalls to digest, take a bite of the delicacies on offer with everything from local produce to food from afar. For those eager to try something new, the street food stalls will be brimming with gastronomic delights with everything from Yorkshire pies and hog roasts to 100 percent British beef burgers and proper hot dogs. There’s even a fish and chip van. Spice up your experience and savour the seasonings of other cultures with everything from Indian to Thai food. Transport yourself to

the Caribbean with authentic saltfish, patties and mutton; enjoy empanadas from Mexico with smokey pozole soup and zesty flatuas tortillas; or say yamas to the Greeks with their traditional gyros, koftas and soulvaki fresh from the grill.

If your sweet tooth strikes then you’re in for a treat as the Rotherham Food and Drink Show will play host to a spectacular array of confectionery stalls for you to dip into.

From churros to crepes, fudge to brownies; grab an ice cream or a snow cone for spot of pure indulgence. There’s also a homemade tarts stall with buttery pastry and mouthwatering fillings such as coconut and caramel, cherry bakewell, and liquorice and blackcurrant. Speaking of sweets, why not raise a glass to all things vodka with shots inspired by sweetshop favourites such as cola-cubes, refreshers, blackjacks and fruit salads. Also on offer are German wines, toffee vodkas and gin liqueurs flavoured with elderflower, plum and pear and rhubarb and rose. Plus, be sure to stop off at PollyAnna, the VW Campervan cocktail bar for a minty mojito or maybe a glass of fizz.

While the stalls are whetting your appetite, why not stock up on goodies to take back home with a choice of varying vittles. With cheese and pickles, cured meats and game, ketchup on your condiments to make your home-dining superb. For a taste of the extraordinary, there’s also Yorkshire balsamic vinegars with remarkable flavours such as cherry and raspberry for gamey meats like lamb or duck, to rhubarb and ginger to add to your stir fries.

To give your cooking the uppercrust, take some inspiration from the range of exceptional demonstrations showcasing both the art and simplicity of cooking in the kitchen theatre across the weekend.
