Trip Information

FIELD TRIPS Field trips or special events are held throughout the week during the 11-week day camp program. Field trips are generally all day long and will be on Wednesdays. Campers will be transported in Park District vehicles or a rented school bus to and from every trip. Campers must wear their 2016 camp shirts and tennis shoes on field trip days. Always bring a completely disposable sack lunch for field trips. We do not have enough space to haul lunch bags and containers. Lunches will be thrown away at destination.

Field Trip Drop Off: Drop off time for field trip days is no later than 9:00am. Please be prompt, vehicles will not wait more than 10 minutes for late arrivals.

Field Trip Pick Up:

Return time is approximately 4:30-5:00pm and will be posted on the trip day. Due to unforeseen reasons, returns may be delayed. The Rain Out line will be updated to reflect field trip return times.

SWIM DAYS Swim days will typically be Tuesday and Fridays, but we watch the forecast and ask you pack a swimsuit and towel everyday in order to be flexible with our options in utilizing the pool throughout the week. Pick up will be between 4:15pm and 6pm on swim days. If you need to pick up your child before 4pm, then please notify the Camp Coordinator when you drop your child off for the day. Please send your camper to camp with shoes and socks (no flip flops) on these days, as we will be doing other activities before and after we go swimming.

TRANSPORTATION Belvidere Park District or a rental bus service provides transportation to all field trips which are not held at the Belvidere Park District facility. The following policies and procedures have been implemented to ensure the safety of staff and participants during transportation: -All passengers must be seated and buckled at all times. -If the driver feels conditions are not appropriate for transport, they may refuse transportation to any participant at anytime. -Eating on the vehicle is prohibited. -Nothing may hang out of the windows. -Everyone must remain quiet at railroad crossings. -A first aid kit will remain on the vehicle at all times.
