These include: Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Togo, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Republic of Chad.
APS currently supplies diesel or gas- engine driven Caterpillar® generating sets, turnkey power plants including all the auxiliary equipment and hybrid power plants incorporating diesel en- gines, solar energy and/or batteries. In order to meet the specific demands of Telecommunication Operators across Africa, APS has specifically set up a specialised team with the objective of reducing operating costs through

improved energy management of comms networks. This also optimises plant maintenance thanks to the advantages of remote monitoring. Remote monitoring affords customers a real-time follow up of the essential data of an energy production fleet. Some of its applications include - monitoring of fuel consumptions on different sites, precise indications of quantities of fuel delivered onsite and control over various parameters of specific power generation plants (power consumption in kW, service hours of generator sets, battery charging status etc.). Alarm warnings (via E-mail, SMS, GSM) can also be given in case of onsite maintenance requirements.
A centralized access to this kind of information provides an optimised management of a company’s power generation equipment. It also permits the despatch of a maintenance team to the site, thus preventing a major failure. This will result in significantly reduced operating costs, reports APS.
