6 SERVICE PEDESTALS

Retrofitting pedestals and pump-outs

B

ased at Coomera in the Australian state of Queensland, where it has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, M-Tech Technologies is able to provide

a full range of products for marinas, including service pedestals, emergency service equipment, sanitation pump-out units and energy-saving lighting systems, which are all supplied with a standard five-year warranty. In addition to installing its products at new

marinas, M-Tech is often called upon to retrofit pedestals when an existing facility is being upgraded as part of a larger refurbishment programme. Two recent projects carried out by the company are as follows:

Luxury yacht HQ In January, 2017, M-Tech undertook one of its most prestigious projects to date, after being requested to replace the marina service pedestals at the Gold Coast headquarters of luxury yacht maker Riveria, which was recently awarded the Australian Marine Industry Exporter of the Year. Founded in 1980, Riviera operates from the largest luxury yacht building facility in the

Southern Hemisphere, a 14-hectare state-of- the-art waterfront site on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The company exports over 55% of its annual production to a global dealer network that spans some 60 countries and every continent in the world. After pre-project meetings with the team at

Rivera, M-Tech manufactured bespoke XL service units that can supply a wide range of functions to the floating service pontoons, including Australian 10, 15 and 32 amp single/three-phase outlets, 50 amp 110 volt single and two-phase USA electrical outlets, water supplies and compressed air. General Manager Darren Wilkinson

commented, “This was a great project for M-Tech to be involved with and shows our capacity to manufacture pedestals that can accommodate electrical style outlets and voltages to suit the many different worldwide electrical requirements, the most fulfilling part for me was two well-established Australian companies working together. “On behalf of M-Tech, I would like to thank

Greig Payne and the Rivera team for trusting this diverse project to M-Tech Marine Technologies.”

Sydney Superyacht Marina In conjunction with SMC Marine, M-Tech has completed another stage of the continuing redevelopment of the Sydney Superyacht Marina. The facility was built to accommodate yachts

visiting Sydney for the 2000 Olympic Games and it has rightfully earned a reputation within the industry as the essential location to berth whilst cruising the region. As the largest dedicated superyacht berthing

facility in the Southern Hemisphere, SSM provides an exceptional standard of service and logistical support, and is viewed as the only option in Sydney Harbour for vessels from 15-70 metres. The marina is currently undergoing a A$30

million redevelopment of approximately 6,880 square metres. M-Tech was proud to supply its multi-award- winning XL service pedestals for the project. The XL range has undergone continued development over the past 40 years and continues to be a popular choice for marine applications. The project entailed pedestals with supply

capabilities of 15 amp single phase to 125 amp three-phase and ¾ inch Australian standard and water-marked taps managed by NMI Pattern Approved IEC 62053-21 Class 1 meters and water meters with the standard RS485 port and Modbus RTU protocol, a vital component of an intelligent, multi-function monitoring solution for energy management systems. The continued support of the M-Tech range of marina service equipment by both SMC and Clemens Overdijk, Manager of Sydney Superyacht Marina, is, said Darren Wilkinson, very much appreciated. M-Tech Marine Technologies

Sydney Superyacht Marina is the largest dedicated

superyacht berthing facility in the Southern Hemisphere.
