THURSDAY 16TH MARCH: ANTIQUES VALUATION BY HANSONS AUCTIONEERS


in aid of Francis House Children’s Hospice in Didsbury is about to commence its 3rd successful year. Free valuation days for all manner of silver, antiques and collectables are held once a month by Hansons Auctioneers at The Coach & Four, 69/71 Alderley Rd, Wilmslow, SK9 1PA, from 11am to 2pm. Home visits can be arranged for large/ multiple items, house clearance or downsiz- ing advice. In lieu of a valuation fee, voluntary donations are invited to Francis House Children’s Hospital, a Manchester charity for families with children living with life threatening and life limiting conditions. SUNDAY 19TH MARCH: WATERS WILMSLOW HALF MARATHON Sets off from Kings Road, close to Wilmslow Rugby Club at 10.30am. The chosen charity for next year is Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity. The Children’s Hospital cares for over 240,000 young patients each and every year and for those children and their families it can be a very difficult time. The charity aims to support excellence in the treatment, research and care that the hospital provides to the young patients and to make a real difference to the children in its care by ensuring they continue to receive the highest quality treatment in the highest quality facilities. SATURDAY 25TH MARCH &1ST APRIL: WILMSLOW SWIMATHON Local swimmers are invited to take the plunge and challenge themselves to take part in the Wilmslow Swimathon. This year the event will be run by the Rotary Club of Wilmslow Dean, who are keen to see teams join in and raise money for local good causes and the community. However, the Swimathon has the added attrac- tion that 50% of the money raised by each team is kept by them, providing a useful source of funds for their own special projects or charity of choice. The Swimathon will take place on the evenings of Saturday 25th March and Saturday 1st April at Wilmslow Leisure Centre, between 5pm and 7pm at Wilmslow Leisure Centre. If you are interested in joining in the event please email wilmslowswimathon@gmail.com for further information and sponsorship forms will then be provided.
