Letter from one of Queen Victoria's staff at Windsor Castle on her behalf : '' My dear Mr. Thompson, I have received the command of Her Majesty The Queen to forward you the accompanying portrait of His Royal Highness Prince Alfred........23 Nov.1860'' Signed 'J.C. Cowick' (?). The letter has an embossed stamp at the head 'Windsor Castle' and a wax seal featuring a crown and two lions either side of a shield. Mounted.
