(1830-1912). McCarthy J. H.: A collection of 33 type-written manuscripts of plays produced during his life time. Titles include:
The Fogey, The Airship,The Land of Cocaigne, The Lady of Loyalty House, The Proud Prince, Don Quixote, Stand and Deliver etc. Most of the works are are presented in the form of several card folders housing each act. Some bear evidence of having been proof read and there are examples of corrections.

McCarthy J. H.: If I Were King (The Vagabond King) 1901. One of MacCarthy's works which gained some popularity and fame. The play was used as the basis of an Operetta by Rudolf Friml - 'The Vagabond King' in 1925 and this in turn adapted as a fi lm version in 1930 & 1956. This Lot is comprised of one original typed manuscript of 'If I Were King' , two of 'The Vagabond King' together with an original printed copy of 'The Vagabond King' - French's Acting Edition. Also included is the Power of Attorney from MacCarthy to Nayfack, 1929.
