...Body Shop At Home
Firstly, let me introduce myself - my name is Sue Hutchison and I am the editor of the Stockbridge Spotlight. But running the Spotlight is not the only thing that keeps me busy.
I am also an independent consultant with the Body Shop at Home. I joined just over 2 1/2 years ago now. My personal life had gone through a massive change and I have to say I was not coping very well at the time. On top of that my finances were not great so, quite honestly, I joined Body Shop to earn some extra money for ‘family treats’. So I had money left over to go to the cinema, go away for a few days or just go out for pizza with my boys. I never imagined I would still be doing this 2 1/2 years later!! But quite simply I found something I love doing, which helped me get back my confidence and pull my life back together and along the way I have made so many new friends. And of course I wouldn’t still be here if I hadn’t also earned money along the way.
So what does a consultant with the Body Shop at Home do? Quite simply I sell Body Shop products through doing Body Shop parties, catalogue sales, selling at various fairs (really selling anywhere) and I earn commission on all my sales (no minimum sales level before you get paid as there are with some other party planning companies!!). I am running my own business so I work the hours I want to work - so I can work round family life much like I do with the Spotlights. There are no sales targets, no pushy managers but there is lots of fun, lots of socialising and making new friends and lots and lots of incentives (the number of free products I earn for doing my ‘job’ is quite simply amazing).
Body Shop at home is primarily a party planning business. Now I know when I mention parties it puts some people off though I don’t know why. I like to think of parties as a fun girlie night in with friends - and I can guarantee that you will have lots of fun. I bring along my lovely Body Shop products that everyone can see, smell and try - it is the Ultimate Try Before You Buy!! It makes buying from a cosmetics counter or a supermarket shelf then finding when you get home the product is just not quite right for you a thing of the past! And of course it doesn’t have to be an evening event - it could be a Sunday afternoon or a coffee get together during the day when the kids are at school. Flexible working!!!
The party host - a fancy name for the person whose house we are in - gets a lovely pamper from me. It could be a relaxing facial, a hand and foot scrub/massage, a spa pamper or a make over - the choice is yours. Even better as the ‘host’ you get free and discounted shopping so you can buy what you have tried. Whats not to like about that!!
