Thank you for your support
I am thrilled, proud and honoured to have taken part in the DofE’s 60th Anniversary celebrations and I want to give my thanks to you on behalf of all the young people who will benefit from your involvement this year.
After I completed my Gold expedition, a medical condition paralysed me from the neck down. Recovery was scary and painful but, after overcoming so many challenges through the DofE, I believed in myself and slowly regained the ability to walk.
The DofE gives us the opportunity to learn some amazing things about ourselves, but that wouldn’t be possible without the whole community of DofE Leaders, Coordinators, Assessors and others who are the backbone of the Charity.
So now, as a DofE Leader, Assessor, Gold Award holder and Diamond Challenger, I want to say thank you.
Thank you to everyone who celebrated our Diamond Anniversary this year.
Thank you to the Leaders and volunteers who go above and beyond to help young people to achieve more.
Thank you to our supporters; without you we couldn’t run the DofE.
And most of all, thank you to all of you, because it’s only by working together that you enable the DofE to continue its positive impact on young lives in the future. With the right foundations and support, we can teach our young people that they really can achieve anything.
Bilie Horsey Billie Horsey DofE Leader, Gold Award holder and Diamond Challenger
