Thank you for being part of our Diamond Anniversary celebrations!


The DofE’s Diamond Anniversary provided a wonderful opportunity to reunite our DofE groups from years gone by and celebrate the success of our fantastic Charity.


It was a year to cheer about the achievements and dedication of all the young people – past, present and future – who challenge themselves through the DofE and the amazing volunteers and Leaders who generously give their time to inspire and guide these young people on their DofE journey.


In 60 years the DofE has grown massively, welcoming over 250,000 young people in the UK – over a million worldwide – in 2016 to begin their road to discovery. This matches the commitment of those leading organisations and business leaders across the UK who recognise the transferable skills gained through the DofE, agreeing that young candidates who have achieved their DofE Award really do stand out.


Our Diamond Anniversary provided a perfect vantage point to look towards the future, and set our sights on our Diamond Ambition of getting two million young people, including 400,000 who are marginalised and at risk, to benefit from the DofE by 2020.


I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in making the DofE experience a reality for so many young people in the UK. My fellow Trustees and I are very grateful indeed but, more importantly, as I meet the young people you have helped, I know that they appreciate and value it most highly too.
