The 2016 financial audit was reviewed and accepted. New chamber members were approved, including: Big Brothers/Big Sisters of York & Adams Counties, Cintas, BB&T, J & M Sales & Marketing and Focus Foundation. The board revised its meeting schedule from 12 monthly meetings to seven meetings per year. The date remains the fourth Thursday of the meeting month. The Executive Committee will continue to meet monthly. A renewed focus will be placed on supporting smart growth within the county with a presence at municipal meetings where hurdles are expected and a strong unified voice.

Holiday Jackpot Raffle Nearly 250 tickets were sold to the Holiday Jackpot Raffle, exceeding budget. Donations were made to the Biglerville High School Flute Ensemble and the Adams County Food Pantry. Special thanks to host Wyndham Gettysburg and drink sponsor Members 1st Federal Credit Union, as well as the many table sponsors and silent auction donors. The committee will begin meeting again in September to plan the 2017 event.

Legislative Congressman Perry’s office discussed the first 100 days of the Trump presidency. Expect the first steps toward a repeal of the Affordable Care Act, border security legislation and

a repeal of many of the regulations enacted by Obama, including the overtime rule. Tax reform will be a priority also, including lowering the corporate tax rate and closing loopholes on deductions. Senator Rich Alloway’s office reported the Senate is working on updates to outdated recycling laws, specifically those regulating electronics recycling, and provided updates on liquor laws, medical cannabis and pension reform. Representative Dan Moul’s office noted legislation is being recrafted for resubmission in the new session, including a bill providing body cameras for sheriffs. The committee is finalizing plans for the March 24 Legislative Luncheon, held at 11:30 a.m. in the ballroom of the Gettysburg Hotel.

Membership & Ambassador Applications are being accepted for Chamber Ambassadors to help with event registration, member recruitment and networking assistance. The committee is developing an exit interview for members not renewing their chamber investment. Member recruitment, especially utilizing County Connections breakfasts, will be a priority for the committee and staff in 2017.
