When does Qatar’s new transit visa start?

Story: Qatar relaxes visa rules As a frequent transit visitor to Qatar I was delighted to read that a free transit visa is to be introduced. But having checked the visitqatar.qa site I cannot find any reference to this rule change, nor on the Qatar government’s visa site. Is this a rumour or a fact?

Hats off to Monarch for getting the deal done

Story: Monarch secures £165 million investment Great news. The industry doesn’t need any more high-profile collapses, so many congrats to Andrew [Swaffield], his team and the investors for getting the deal done.

JOEL BRANDON-BRAVO Thank you, Prestige, for backing our trip

I would like to thank Prestige Holidays for once again sponsoring our annual Fred Olsen Travel conference, this year to Sicily. For them to take away my entire management team of 16 is hugely appreciated by myself and the company. It is great to have such wonderful support from such a great tour operator.

PAUL HARDWICK group retail manager, Fred Olsen Travel

There is really nothing left to discuss. Heathrow is the only choice and has been for 15-plus years. Cameron’s government got hung up and sidetracked with the pleas from Gatwick and the environmentalists. GLENN E PICKARD

It is absolutely unacceptable that the taxpayer be asked to provide subsidy. The impoverishment of our coastal communities and rural areas needs to be addressed if Theresa May is to make good on her ‘one nation’ vision. PAUL SAWBRIDGE

Any new runway will rile much of UK

Story: Further delay expected over Heathrow decision There will be outrage across the country if Heathrow gets approval for a third runway. Theresa May promised us a government that works for all – and then she demands £18 billion from taxpayers to fund infrastructure in London that will only benefit the southeast. Not a great way to help balance the north/south divide. BRIANROBERTS22
