As we approach the end of 2014, I want to take the time to thank our
readers for reading our publication, and our advertisers for sponsoring the cost of publishing Helicopter Maintenance magazine. We’ve had a great year and we are proud to be the No. 1 maintenance publication for helicopter mechanics.
Some of our success can be attributed to a commitment to continuous improvement. Instead of cutting costs, we’ve decided to continue investing in our magazine for the benefi t of our readers and our advertisers. We began the year with a fresh web
site redesign, followed by introducing a new digital platform on the web. We then developed IOS, Android and Kindle applications. We’ve done all of this while continuing to
provide Helicopter Maintenance magazine free to helicopter maintenance professionals in North America (and worldwide through our digital apps). The fact that we continue to grow year
after year is affi rmation that we are doing something right. Our growth is not without challenges. It is getting more diffi cult in the publishing buiness to continue to provide trade publications for free. Printing and postage increases typically outpace infl ation. In an age where many publications have chosen to bail on print magazines and convert to digital magazines (a big cost savings), it’s diffi cult to raise ad prices to keep up with increased costs.
As a reader, this simply isn’t your problem. I mention it because there is simple way that you, as a reader, can help to ensure Helicopter Maintenance magazine continues to be delivered free of charge to you. Patronize our sponsors and advertisers and let them know that you saw their ads in our magazine! Yes, it’s that simple.
