Aerospace completed the program within the space of only fi ve months, the aircraft being inducted into the facility in August and returned into service in December, an impressive turnaround time given the extent of the work. Vector Aerospace has an extensive track record of support for the Lynx platform. The Fleetlands facility has been the sole provider of depth maintenance and modifi cation support to the Royal Navy and Army Lynx fl eet for 36 years. This has included all marks of Lynx up to and including the Mark 9A. “The award of this contract by the French Navy is an


important milestone for Vector Aerospace UK”, says managing director Michael Tyrrell. “The contract further expands Vector Aerospace’s support to military operators around the world. Our high standards, reliable work-rate and skilled workforce are amongst the best in the MRO industry and make us a recognized center of excellence for depth Lynx maintenance.”


Summit Aviation Adds New Bell Helicopter Authorization


Summit Aviation, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, announces that it has added the Bell 429 helicopter to its factory authorization. Summit Aviation has been an Authorized Bell Helicopter


Service Center for 25 years, providing maintenance, repair, inspection and modifi cations to various customer bases. “We have an outstanding group of experienced and


factory trained technicians,” says general manager of Summit Aviation Ralph Kunz. “We have been a Bell service center for numerous years and adding the 429 to our list of capabilities further enhances the services we have to off er Bell Helicopter operators.” Kunz says that in addition to trained technicians, Summit


Aviation also maintains all required tooling and parts to support the Bell 429 airframe. In addition to the Bell 429, Summit Aviation is a designated Gold Customer Service Facility for Bell 204, 205, 206, 407 and 412 model helicopters.

DAC International Adds Regional Sales Manager


DAC International, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, announces the hiring of Jennifer Sullivan as its East Coast Regional Sales Manager. Ms. Sullivan will be responsible for the overall sales


development on the East Coast. She will be working with all of our current customers including DAC’s dealer network and will ensure continued future growth. Additionally, Ms. Sullivan will be assisting with the company’s marketing communication programs in order to integrate its global sales and marketing initiatives. She will be based in Austin, TX. “We remain focused on looking for opportunities to

Sullivan previously served as the South Eastern U.S. sales manager for Contractors Register, based in Austin. She has an undergraduate degree in business administration and marketing and an MBA in Business Management with a focus in marketing and advertising. She also holds a Private Pilot’s license and spends her free time fl ying rescue fl ights for the volunteer organization, Pilot’s N Paws.


Columbia Helicopters Receives Certifi cations to Operate CH-47D Chinook Helicopters


Columbia Helicopters announces that it has received the proper certifi cation to begin fl ight operations of the Boeing CH-47D Chinook helicopters that it purchased surplus from the US government earlier this year. The company has received the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Restricted Category Type Certifi cate for our eight “D Model” helicopters, and has also received the Certifi cate of Airworthiness for the fi rst of these aircraft. “This completes a long process that involved the tough, focused eff orts from a lot of our people who were working with the FAA,” says Kurt Koehnke, vice president of Maintenance for Columbia Helicopters. “We have completed this fi rst major step, and there are still several steps involved with adding this new platform to our fl eet.” “We are excited to reach this milestone so that we can


begin regular fl ight operations soon,” says Todd Petersen, vice president of Marketing. “We expect these aircraft to fi nd their way into fi refi ghting operations, for some of our overseas petroleum exploration support work, and they will also be able to conduct some forestry and construction work.”


Metro Aviation Receives Brazilian Validation


As the Brazilian aircraft market grows, Metro Aviation is playing a larger role in helping South American companies get off the ground. The worldwide completion company recently received Brazilian validations for several installations already STC’d in the US for the Airbus EC145T1 aircraft. “Metro sees Brazil as an emerging market for US products


and services. The certifi cates are in support of the fi rst EC145 delivery by Metro Aviation to a prominent Brazilian company,” says Metro Aviation managing director Milton Geltz. Metro Aviation received validation for a Single Pilot IFR solution, complete emergency medical system installation and optional equipment installations. The approvals will allow Metro to install the latest communication and navigation systems, integrated with the basic EC145 autopilot system, custom medical interior, aftermarket innovations and more. Metro previously obtained approval for the EC145 air conditioning system. Metro Aviation is scheduled to deliver several aircraft to Brazil in 2015.
