Architects regularly specify the CycleRax range of bike
racks where space optimisation and value for money
are important factors. Skidmore, Owens and Merrill
specified the Leeds CycleRax for 440 bicycles at 201
Bishopsgate and the Broadgate Tower. Architects and
developers often use the CycleRax design service to
optimise the number of cycle parking spaces. Indeed,
one Cambridge developer saved around £50,000 by
reducing one development’s basement area.

High Performance and Aesthetic Appearance
Set in the heart of Mayfair, Brown’s Hotel is currently closed for extensive renovation and
refurbishment. The £19m renovation has involved nearly all aspects of the hotel, including
the installation of windows manufactured and supplied by Ambass-A-Door Doors and
Windows. Nearly 300 windows required replacing with the specification calling for them to
be curved head cords and weights profiles from Ambass-A-Door’s Sandringham range.
Browns Hotel wanted double glazed sliding sash profiles that would complement the
appearance and character of the building. The Sandringham windows offer both high
performance and aesthetic appearance and have been installed on the first floor upwards.
Ambass-a-Door’s range of timber windows are manufactured to the highest environmental
and thermal standards, with the Sandringham range meeting all the criteria for listed
buildings. All windows were supplied to site fully factory finished with hardwood cills and
softwood frames, with all timber treated to ensure enhanced durability and protection.
