Folkestone Academy in Kent
with its celebrated custom
solar shading solutions.
When it comes to education,
it is vital to provide the
optimum working temperature
and keep classrooms from
over heating. Air-conditioning
is often heavily relied upon,
but in order to keep the
Academy’s energy costs to a minimum, Levolux effectively combined a
number of solar shading technologies into one efficient solution. Inside,
the Academy was fitted with 800 Levolux Internal Roller Blinds.

Copper in Architecture
The 2009 ‘European Copper in Architecture
Awards’ have been launched at a special
event celebrating the 75th anniversary of
Copper Development Association in
London. Architects involved with copper
buildings are encouraged to enter and take
advantage of this major opportunity to
present their work to an international
audience. These well-established Awards
recognise architectural excellence and
celebrate the use of copper in all its forms.
The design-led competition covers recently
completed buildings in European countries
participating in the European Copper in
Architecture Campaign.
