Esk Building Products
Riach Architects, who were involved with
John Leon House, a sensitive site within the
historic city of Oxford, has employed both
standard and special bricks from Esk Building
Products’ range to construct a property which
forms a physical and visual transition between
a residential area and a busy shopping street.
The scheme, which includes key worker
accommodation, uses distinctive yellow
coloured bricks as best suiting the vernacular
architecture. The Project Architect for Riach,
Corin Rae, explains: “We had previously seen
the Esk calcium silicate bricks used on the
St Catherine’s college halls of residence in
Oxford, and liked them.”
