A solid wood Luxalon ceiling system from
Hunter Douglas has contributed to the
glamorous ambience at Croma Restaurant
in Manchester. Griff Evans of Ombler
Iwanowski Architects says “Selecting the
Luxalon ceiling was key. It was the only
system or solution that gave us full control
over the quality, rather than just asking a
contractor to produce a wood ceiling that
would eventually warp.” The system
features a unique design that enables faster
installation and all the panels can be
demounted for easy access to services.

Fendor
The construction of Scotland’s major
new air traffic control facility has involved
metal framed fenestration specialist,
Fendor Limited, in providing a complexity
of high performance screens and doors.
Creating a high-tech workplace for some
400 staff, the building features the use of
both Fendor FineLine curtain walling and
Fendor SwingLine doors to offer a light
and open working environment. Together
with the FineLine screens, the SwingLine
doorsets offer effective smoke control as
well as integrity against the spread of fire.
