SPECIAL OLYMPICS (SO) S.O. Participation Eligibility


Special Olympics training and competition is open to every person with intellectual disabilities, 8 years and older. All athletes must have the following completed before participation and registration.


 Current Special Olympics Medical Application on file prior to participation.  NASR-Belvidere Annual Information Form (AIF)  Attend a Parent/Athlete meeting to go over handbook with Special Olympics Athletic Director (SOAD)

S.O. TRACK & FIELD (Athletics) Lace up those shoes and join us for track & field! Athletes and coaches will determine which events an athlete will excel in and train for the Special Olympics Area meet. Athletes will prepare for the area on meet at the NASR-Belvidere Practice Meet on Saturday April 9th. The S.O. Area meeting will be on Saturday, May 6th at Harlem High School.

S.O. BOCCE Imagine a sport open to all ability levels that combines the best skee-ball, bowling, and shuffleboard! Join us for as we play to compete in the ancient sport of bocce. Athletes will be paired up with one another based on age and ability level after the first night of practice. The S.O. District Tournament is on Saturday, April 22nd in Peru, IL.


Weather permitting...our new Bocce Ball Courts will be complete and ready for play during the 2017 Bocce season! Huge thanks to a grant that we received from the Boone County Community Foundation to construct the courts.
