THERE will be snow in Headcorn this Christmas … and that’s official.

A snow machine will be helping retailers to set the scene in the High Street for this year’s Victorian Christmas celebration on Saturday, December 3, with further flurries of activity from 1pm, including a fun fair on Days Green, craft stalls at Tori’s Fitness and late-night shopping until 7pm.

Traders throughout the village will step back in time, dressed in Victorian costume, to create the atmosphere of Christmas past. Overhead the Christmas lights will be on, there’ll be hot chestnuts on sale, craft stalls in the High Street and a Santa’s grotto. The town

crier will herald the start of the festive season when visitors will gather for the ceremonial switching on of the lights on Headcorn’s Christmas tree at 4.30pm.

Hand-bell ringers, the village school choir and Heacorn Ukulele Group will share the limelight in Foreman’s Walk and Headcorn Gift and Music, where they will take turns to entertain throughout the afternoon.

Sarah Hancock, from Headcorn Hardware, one of eight traders behind this year’s event, said: “We’re really looking forward to it. Last
