downright unhappy. Well, here’s something you may not know... you’re not alone! In fact, many women aren't jumping up and down with joy

when they've just found out they're pregnant! It's perfectly normal, so don’t panic! Te problem is that we’re all led to believe that pregnancy

should be a time of joy, but, while it can be a positive time for most women, others will suffer from serious mood swings and even bouts of depression. Very oſten, it takes some time before the joy of carrying a

little baby is fully appreciated and enjoyed. It’s very common and, to be honest, perfectly understandable. Let's face it, pregnancy is a time of tremendous change, and that change can be overwhelming. As your pregnancy progresses, you will begin to feel really

But, at the same time, with the amount of changes going on with your body, it can be difficult to remain happy and positive. As with most side effects of pregnancy, it’s our little

hormone friends that are responsible. Progesterone and estrogen, the female hormones, which regulate the productive cycle, are thought to be partly responsible for those feelings of being up one minute and down the next. Tere's no doubt that mood swings are very prevalent in

pregnancy and affect seven out of ten expectant mothers. If you find that you’re laughing one minute and in tears the next, it may be that you’re experiencing mood swings, which tend to be more pronounced in the first trimester and are more common in women, who ordinarily suffered from emotional ups and downs before their periods.
