when Shauna mcCarney- Blair couldn’t find pre-made food that tasted homemade for her children, she created her own company to provide it for other mothers…

addition to the family - five-month-old Lily - is having a nap, giving 37-year-old Shauna time to talk about the phenomenal success of the business that she set up just over five years ago. ‘I had actually planned to take a couple of


months off, but, as things turned out, I ended up back in the office the week aſter I gave birth to Lily,' she laughs. 'It's just a matter of trying to combine everything and stay sane at the same time!’ Te ‘office’ that Shauna is referring to is


that of her company, Heavenly Tasty Organics, which she set up in 2011 with her husband James, who is now operations director. Te company specialises in

naturally healthy baby snacks, which are packed with 'superfood' ingredients, such as kale, spinach, coconut milk and buckwheat, and never contain added sugar. Initially, the Augher-based company


began by launching its frozen range in 30 Supervalu stores in Northern Ireland, but now sells its award-winning snacks into into thousands of stores globally, including over 1000 stores in the UK (Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose) and over 300 stores in the south of Ireland (Super Valu, Tesco and Boots). came to Shauna while her older two children were very young…


‘I had become very aware of the benefits of


organic food when I was weaning my eldest child, Joe, who’s now ten, on to solids. We had become aware by that time that Joe seemed to be suffering from food allergies including egg and dairy, so home cooking was my only option. Unfortunately, when my second child Cara came along, she suffered similar problems and so there was no alternative to home cooking at all times. ‘In order to make life a little simpler for


myself, I began to make their meals and freeze them in small batches – as many parents do. I was a full-time mum at the time, so time wasn’t an issue for me, but I
