AS THE new football season gets underway in earnest, Maidstone United fans can enjoy seeing their name in lights. The Gallagher Stadium is getting


a large LED screen for the new cam- paign. It will display the score and time during the match, with advertising and club messages before and after the game, aswell as half time. Measuring four metres by three metres, it will be on the riverside boundary – offering good visibility for most spectators. The screen is similar to the one in-


stalled at fellow Vanarama National League club Aldershot Town. With a full colour display updated


in real-time, LED displays can also allow videos to be shown. These can include replays of goals plus match highlights at half-time or even fan announcements, such as birthdays and marriage proposals. Aylesford-based telecoms and se-


curity company Icom, who spon- sored the club a few seasons ago, are sponsoring the screen, due to be in- stalled in September. Advertising slots are now on sale


and because the message can be changed regularly, it is a cost-effec- tive way of letting crowds of more than 2,000 spectators know about


events or special offers. Club chief executive BillWilliams


said: “This screen will really add to the quality of the match day experi- ence at Maidstone United and give us a new outlet for companies wish- ing to advertise at the stadium, as all our traditional perimeter boards have now sold out. “We have almost covered the in- stallation costs. There is still room for


a few more local companies to help us and help their visibility by be- coming screen advertisers.” Icom managing director John Donoghue added: “In our business, we know the importance of good communications and how technol- ogy can enhance it. This new addi- tion will give a more professional look to the place and be highly visi- ble for advertisers.”

Window of opportunity for sponsorship deal


MAIDSTONE United has signed an extension to its sponsorship deal with BriteliteWindows. The agreement will see the company continue its support of the Stones until the end of the 2017/18 season. Britelite, which has been associated with the Vanarama National League newcomers for more than 40 years, returned as main sponsor in 2011. Club chief executive Bill Williams


added: "We are so fortunate to have amain sponsor like Britelite Windows. They have been with us on this incredible journey and we couldn't have asked for better partners during that time."
