The Association of Art & Antiques Dealers 535 Kings Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0SZ T: +44 (0)20 7823 3511 F: +44 (0)20 7823 3522 Website: www.lapada.org

LAPADA, The Association of Art & Antiques Dealers, was founded in 1974 and is the UK’s largest association of professional dealers in antiques and works of art, with some 550 members spread throughout the country and a growing number overseas. Between them, members cover virtually every discipline from antiquities to contemporary art; including fine furniture, carpets, clocks, ceramics, silver, jewellery and paintings. Membership of LAPADA is open only to those who meet the Association’s stringent requirements as to experience, quality of stock and knowledge of their subject.

All LAPADA members have agreed to abide by the Association’s strict Code of Practice. This includes the necessity for correct labelling, including the price and giving information about restoration so that you can buy with confidence. In addition to the protection the Code affords, art and antiques dealers must comply with all consumer protection laws.

LAPADA offers a number of services to the public including free conciliation in the unlikely event of a dispute with a LAPADA member, and Certificates of Age for export purposes. Free publications include a Directory of members, including useful information on the care of antiques. We co-operate with the major regional trade associations and also belong to CINOA, the International Federation of Art and Antiques Dealers’ Associations.

The LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair is held each year in Berkeley Square, Mayfair, during late September. Please visit the Association’s website at www.lapada.org for full details of members, their stock and how to find them as well as other useful information. ‘We are delighted to be working in association with The Art & Antiques Fair, Olympia, where so many members exhibit, and we look forward to welcoming you to stand 26.
