I am delighted to welcome you to The Art & Antiques Fair, Olympia 2016. As London’s longest running fair you will discover a wider choice of high quality art, antiques, furniture and collectors’ pieces than at any other event in the British capital.
Over 160 hand-picked UK and international dealers will be showcasing an irresistible array of beautiful and unusual objects and works of art, rich with provenance and timeless originality.
Each exhibitor’s careful choice of stock, drawn from antiquity to the present day, is sourced throughout the year and reserved especially for the fair. Every piece has been vetted by the fair’s independent team of experts for authenticity, date and condition.
2016 is set to be another fantastic year including the introduction of the first European section of the Chicago-based show, SOFA CHICAGO – Sculpture Objects Functional Art and Design Fair. Set within a dedicated area on the Gallery Level of The Art & Antiques Fair, Olympia, SOFA LONDON will provide a platform for an elite selection of dealers presenting for sale, one-of-a-kind masterworks crossing a diverse range of genres including ceramics, wood, glass, metal and fibre.
We are also delighted to welcome the Olympia Showcase presenting new industry talent, with five specially selected emerging dealers and galleries showcasing a mix of pieces. The Showcase will be located on the Gallery Level. Alongside regular Olympia dealers, new exhibitors and those returning after a break, the Fair will offer a wonderfully eclectic mix of objects and art.
Once again the fair will host a full programme of free talks by some of the world’s leading cultural institutions. These include curators from the Royal Academy of Arts, Tate Britain, the National Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Leading interior designers, the Crafts Council and author Michael Bird will also partake in the talks programme. Additionally independent art consultant Vanessa Curry will be with us again to lead daily highlight tours, which will show the wealth of treasures that can be seen at the fair.
